Inspiration - The surface of the Madrepora ring is inspired by the wavy, regular structure of coral septa, the skeletal elements that mark coral growth. Its volume is compact, almost mineral, and the detail of its texture brings it closer to a fragment of the seabed than to a piece of jewelry: a calcification brought to the surface, built up layer by layer until it fills the available space entirely.

The piece - Boule ring in oxidized 925 silver, hand-sculpted in wax and cast using the lost-wax technique. The domed surface is entirely covered in a perforated texture that radiates outward from a pierced central point along irregular lines. The raised work alternates mirror-polished ridges with oxidized recesses, giving depth and movement across the whole dome of the ring. The inside is polished.

Fit - Its pronounced volume makes Madrepora a statement ring, designed to take center stage on the hand. The tactile, densely worked surface catches the light differently from every angle. The band is comfortable, with no sharp edges touching neighboring fingers, and is sized to stay securely in place without adding bulk.

Craftsmanship - This is a one-of-a-kind piece: the wax was entirely hand-modeled and cast as a single piece. No second copy exists.
